Must-See Session
GitHub Actions Workshop
Speakers
GitHub Actions is a fantastic tool and makes it easy to create a CI/CD pipeline. However, with great power comes great responsibility – and probably a lot of spaghetti code. This workshop will teach you how to use GitHub Actions to automate your workflows. Our goal with this workshop is to make you gain a basic understanding of GitHub Actions, and to give you the tools to continue learning on your own. Additionally, we want you to be more comfortable and confident in using GitHub Actions in your own projects. Opening up a large repository with many workflows can be intimidating, but we hope that this workshop will make you feel more at home. Target audience: Beginners and intermediates. Prerequisites: A computer and a GitHub account

Hard-Coded

Speaker
In the world of software architecture, constraints breed creativity. This 2-hour, hands-on workshop challenges you to build a functional micro-service architecture with a demanding set of limitations: exactly 12 micro-services, each under 30 lines of code, and aggregate response times below 10ms.
Stay Ahead of Evolving Threats with Falco

Speaker
This workshop is perfect for anyone looking to deepen their expertise in Kubernetes and cloud-native security. Whether you're new to the field or an experienced Kubernetes threat detection engineer, you'll discover how to leverage Falco to craft detection rules that extend MITRE ATT&CK coverage. By the end of the session, you'll clearly understand managing threat detection in Kubernetes and the challenges of validating complex rule sets.

KRO-nicles of Kubernetes: Taming Resources the Open Source Way

Speakers
Building custom Kubernetes APIs often means navigating a maze of resource dependencies, controller logic, and endless YAML. Enter KRO (Kube Resource Orchestrator)—an open-source tool designed to streamline Kubernetes extensibility. With KRO, you can bundle complex infrastructure components into reusable, composable APIs, empowering teams to standardize deployments without drowning in operational overhead. In this session, we will unveil how KRO simplifies the Operator pattern by automating resource orchestration and lifecycle management. Through real-world scenarios and a live demo, see how KRO transforms Kubernetes from a platform you build for into one you build with. Come explore the future of Kubernetes extensibility—without giving away your nights and weekends to CRDs. Benefit for the audience/ecosystem? KRO simplifies Kubernetes extensibility by turning complex resource sets into reusable APIs - without writing custom controllers. This lowers the barrier to platform building, promotes standardization, and boosts productivity. Teams can deliver internal platforms faster, with less YAML and more reuse, making Kubernetes more approachable and powerful for all.
The Fast and the Flexible: bare-metal performance for HPC and AI with the flexibility of cloud

Speakers
Users running HPC simulations and AI models need the performance of bare-metal. However with the explosion in diversity and scale of these workloads over recent years, the only way to fulfill all of the different use cases is with the flexibility of cloud. This has historically been associated with a performance penalty through the introduction of virtualization. At Nscale, we provide our customers with bare-metal performance with the flexibility of cloud by taking advantage of open-source technologies. In this session, we will show how Nscale uses a Kubernetes underlay to provide high-performance virtual Kubernetes clusters that are available in a handful of minutes and provide direct access to hardware. We will show how we layer Slinky from SchedMD on top of this to provide a familiar Slurm interface for users. Finally, we will show how we benchmark from top to bottom to verify that our customers are getting the performance that they expect, and how we build that in to the lifecycle of hardware that underpins our platform.
